The Queensland Rocketry Society is holding a special launch event on Saturday 9th October 2010. Rocketry enthusiasts will be travelling from interstate to participate in this full-day launch program that will include all sizes rockets, from small low-power model rockets right up to big fiberglass high-power rockets.
Anyone who is interested in rockets and aero modeling is very welcome to come along to watch all the action and find out how rockets work.
Launching will commence at around 8:00am and continue until around 4:00pm.
There will be a sausage sizzle and drinks available at the launch site to keep everyone fuelled for the whole day. There is no natural shade at the launch site, so please bring a hat and sunscreen.
Detailed directions for getting to the launch site can be found here.
If the weather turns rainy or windy we will not be able to launch. If the weather looks doubtful, you can confirm whether the launch is proceeding by phoning 0412 650 682 any time after 7:00am on the day of the launch.
IMPORTANT: We prefer that you do not bring any pet animals to the launch site as the sights and sounds of the rocket motors may scare some animals. However, if you do, please keep them restrained at times (e.g. on a leash).
